Meet Our Flight Instructors
RAMON BROWN
CHIEF PILOT
Ramon began his helicopter training in his early 20’s, advancing to his ATP Helicopter Certificate and ferrying turbine helicopters all across the country. Although he transitioned to flying mainly jet aircraft, Ramon’s love for helicopter flying continued. He has experience instructing beginner to advanced pilots.
ROBIN JOHNSON
FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR
Robin’s flying career began in 1976 when he ran away to sea to become a helicopter pilot in the Royal Navy. Though primarily an anti-submarine pilot, he also flew tours in search and rescue, utility and training … accumulating 6,000 flight hours. He left the service in 1995 to pursue a career in the airline world, retiring from British Airways in 2020 as a B-777 Captain. He is married to an American, Jennifer, who he met while in the Navy on a three-year exchange posting with the USCG. Robin and Jennifer have two grown sons. They relocated from Europe to Boulder, CO in 2015, and he has been a part-time helicopter flight instructor since 2017.
JESSE GUEVARA-LEHKER
FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR
Jesse began his pilot career four years ago in Texas where he trained and taught in the R22, R44, and the Schweizer 300. With experience in selling and flying MD's, Jesse has a diversified background in all things helicopter. When he's not flying or teaching ground, you can find him on the slopes or hiking with his dog.
BRIAN MONROE
FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR
Brian’s flying career began in 2004 while he was in high school. He worked as a maintenance technician’s assistant on fixed wing aircraft as a way to fund his helicopter flight training dreams. In addition to teaching, he has experience in helicopter sales, survey, photo/ film flights, ferrying, and FAA part 135 operations including charters, and tours. He has flown air ambulance since 2016 and is well versed in the beautiful, but challenging, mountainous environment of the Colorado Rockies. When he is not flying, Brian enjoys spending time with his family and hiking with his dog, Maverick.
HAYDEN BROWN
GROUND INSTRUCTOR
Hayden comes from a long line of pilots going back to his Great Grandfather. After taking his first flight at 15, he is now a Commercial rated pilot, Certificated Ground Instructor, and Gold Seal Flight Instructor in airplanes. He has prior experience teaching Seaplanes in Florida, mountain flying in the Colorado Rockies, and flying high altitude long distance in private aviation. He has a drive to share his passion for flight and goal to enhance the aviation safety culture. When he is not flying, he enjoys film/video production, mountain biking, hiking, and camping.
