Igor Sikorsky: The Aviation Pioneer and his contribution to the first modern helicopter’s flight

Would you be surprised to find out that the first helicopter actually flew before the Wright Brothers ever took off successfully?

Aviation pioneer Igor Sikorsky built his first helicopter at the age of 12 (as a small, powered toy) and eventually turned his ideas into reality. After many failed designs, Sikorsky developed the VS-300, which made the first modern helicopter flight on September 14th, 1939.
